About this place

Canary Wharf sits on the Isle of Dogs in east London, on the site of the West India Docks that opened in 1802. After the docks closed in 1980 the area was redeveloped as a financial district, and One Canada Square, designed by Cesar Pelli and finished in 1991, became its landmark tower. Today it is home to banks, shops and an Elizabeth line station, with the old dock basins still running between the towers.
